OVERVIEW

This project involved replacement of heating plant & associated works for a 2 floor section of the City Academy in Bristol.There was a dedicated plantroom serving an underfloor heating system (11no UFH manifolds serving a total of 60 circuits), 2no radiators in the dining hall and 4no AHU heating coils. In addition to the plant replacement works, we flushed and chemically treated the underfloor heating system to ensure optimal performance and also installed additional radiators onto the LTHW system.The boilers were from the new Potterton Commercial Sirius Three range and on this project we were the first to install them.

THE RESULT

• Validation of: Existing installation drawings/ Water analysis/ Flow rates; • Flushing and treatment of existing pipework including UFH circuits and distribution pipework; • Strip-out of existing LTHW plant; • Supply and installation of: o Boiler plant & flues and associated primary circuit and gas pipework distribution o Primary circuit pumps o Pressurisation unit and associated MCW feeds o Plate heat exchanger o Radiators and associated pipework o LTHW heater battery coil to kitchen AHU • Replacement of secondary circuit pumpset; • Updates to the heating and ventilation control system; • Testing and commissioning;
